2016 Club dinner and Presentation
The club presentation night and dinner at the Woolshed Inn Hotel was enjoyed by 29 members. While we sat around chatting alternate dishes were served. After main course President Darrell welcomed all for attending and presented Councillor Liz Goosens who spoke about happenings with our local government, and in particular talked about the old school buildings, and their future. An interesting point to take note of is that the car park area we use is listed for sale. Although they don't see the Council selling in the near future, they hinted they would be open to any negotiations from us.
After the formal part of the meeting, Darrell then continued on with the presentations of club awards. Firstly Neil Smedley was awarded his life membership for his longstanding role as treasurer and volunteer work. Particularly with maintaining and operating the BBQ trailer. It was a very deserving award, and was warmly applauded as he received his Life membership plaque, mug, and cap.
Next David Sharpe was voted as Club person of the year. David has filled the role of club secretary many years, and his ability to have everything organised on meeting nights, and some events is well noticed.
The club captains award went to Len Jenkin. Len also is a hard worker within the club, and is responsible for the documentation, and accreditation of our vehicles. This is a lengthy task as us members tend to take our time in getting around to presenting our vehicle registration, and declarations for Len to assess. Len is also a constant participant in club runs, and events.
